In this installation, we performed our Deluxe Flake Floor Installation, which includes a single broadcast of flakes followed by a double polyaspartic top coat. This double top coat not only provides thicker coverage compared to standard installations, but it also includes more UV inhibitors for enhanced UV protection.
Also, the added thickness of the double top coat strengthens the system, resulting in a more durable, long-lasting floor. This installation is backed by a 21-year warranty. The process begins with a mechanical grind to prepare the concrete surface. We then apply a tinted base coat of polyaspartic, into which we broadcast the flakes onto the wet basecoat.
After approximately an hour, we can smooth out the flakes by scraping, then vacuum up any loose flakes. The first top coat is applied, followed by an hour’s wait before the application of the second top coat. This project was on a monolithic slab (without expansion joints). The homeowner chose the color Shale to complement their stamped concrete driveway.
